Surprise Launch (in itch.io): Merchant Mode!!

COMPLETE! (v2.0)

________________________________________________________

Orchard Online: Merchant Mode is a NSFW shop-running simulation game inspired by games like Recettear and injecting a dose of gender bending shenanigans.

Created by Icarue, the game is the story of our protagonist after being trapped in an MMO. Unlike many stories of the kind, it is a world where they received no ultimatum, and no other sign of why... the log-in just disappeared. The world calmed, and moved on to rebuild the lives within.

Follow Xx_Dude_xX (name "Meric") as he follows his dream while his debt collector sneakily pushes him in a specific direction. Will he be able to pursue his dream of becoming a merchant, or will he give up, or find a new dream swallowed by lust and desire?

 Featuring...

  • Merchant mode! Set a price and haggle to get your way. Set it too high and people will walk away. Set it too low, and you won't make any profit. The system is heavily inspired by Recettear and other merchant simulators.
  • Skill tree: use a... certain currency to unlock useful abilities to make haggling easier.
  • Tug of War: selling items is like a tug of war, your enemies might have abilities and force your hand to lower the price of an item... or you can offer them some "favors".
  • Paperdoll! Doesn't look familiar, you are imagining it

Pardon my asking, but I see a bartender ending in the credits. How do you get that? Is there an ending guide anywhere? This is really good work by the way.

You need a low amount if transformations, and choose to NOT continue when prompted (Yes, that choice leads to different endings, in the high TF count too)

The Blue Contracts are upcoming content right?

Easter Eggs. They are available in game atm. Just a bit hidden. Feel free to join Discord for clues and discussion.

Wait, did you mean to include a screenshot of an error message (the one in the upgrade zone)?

Mhmmm... I thought it was good to show the skill world. I deleted it. Most of the images come from people's screeshots :P

To be fair, I do adore the phrasing of "Path to execution obstructed", it sounds pretty damn metal, but also gives off a... fairly different vibe than the earlier version I remember having played at some point. xD

Thanks for the upload btw, I'll have to try to gather my nerves for another playhrough to see the new stuff since...

Xx_Dude_xX is a pure and precious little gem and I'd feel a bit bad for allowing his dreams to get corrupted yet again after having put in the extra effort to get the "not corrupted" endings.

I'd argue at the start of the story, he is too focused on what he THINKS he wants instead of asking IF he wants it.
Insert Uncle Iroh: Its time to stop and ask: who are YOU? And what do YOU want?

I would consider all good endings (aka not the bad ones) as the MC following his dreams. He just realized they are slightly different, or adapted his new likes into it. The only bad ending are the... bad endings. Where the MC again hyperfocused on what does he THINKS he wants instead of actually thinking about it.

I get you, I get you. If our dear MC, uh, I mean our protagonist realizes what he wants and is happy then it should all be good...

It's just that he starts of as the kind of character that evokes a powerful, instinctual, need to protect him from the evil, dirty world around him and letting a certain someone have his way too much feels like failing that need.

... or maybe I just think that (s)he is cutest when you only grab upgrades up to a certain point and I'm rationalizing to justify my own preferences. Who knows, really? xD

Fair. You can always grab some upgrades and still be pure (both for the sense of endings and thematic), like Sweet talking, which merchants usually do anyway. Buuut, if you want them a bit busty and curvy, nothing is stopping you :P

OK i played for an hour, and for now whats there its enjoyable, only real problem i have is the sell items part were all of the items get sold

You should buy more stuff then. If you are out of inventory, then you need to risk more to sell more. Risk and reward. If you still did that, then congrats, you have a lot of money.

Yeah but i only wanted to sell one Compass, not all of them

Why just one?

i had 7 and wanted 6, got em trough the random salesman
